Outlook PST Reached 50GB: How Can I Reduce It?

My Outlook PST file has reached the 50GB limit, and now Outlook has started lagging and showing errors while sending or receiving emails. I am worried it might get corrupted if it grows any larger. Can anyone suggest effective ways to reduce or shrink the PST file size without losing important data?
