How do I move a ZIP archive into TAR for Linux deployment?
#1
On Linux, TAR is the preferred archive format, while ZIP is more common on Windows. You cannot just rename ZIP to TAR, because both use different structures. The manual way is to unzip the contents and then recreate them as a TAR archive, but that can be time-consuming if the file is large. A simpler option is to use a tool that directly converts formats. The Softaken Archive Converter software helps with this. You can turn ZIP into TAR in a few clicks. It also supports RAR, 7z, and GZ, runs on all Windows versions, and includes a free demo.
