I’ve been looking into options for my kid (he’s in elementary school), and honestly, it’s been harder than I expected. Some of the programs seem really structured, almost like mini schools after school, while others feel more like casual hangouts with a bit of homework help sprinkled in. I get that every kid is different, but I’m trying to strike a balance I want him to get his energy out, maybe do some creative activities, but also not fall behind on homework.
We tried one place last year that was super academic-focused, but he came home exhausted and cranky. On the flip side, a friend told me her daughter’s program is basically just free play, which sounds fun but maybe too unstructured?
I stumbled on a list of local programs here: [link], but reading descriptions online doesn’t always match what it’s like in real life.
If you’ve tried any before and after school program in alpharetta, which ones felt like a good balance for your kid? Or do you just do care at home instead?
