Outdoor patio installation & natural stone driveway

I recently finished an outdoor patio installation and love how it turned out. Now I’m considering adding a natural stone driveway to match. How does natural stone hold up in areas with freezing temperatures? Does it need sealing to prevent cracks or discoloration, or is it naturally durable? If you’ve combined a paver patio with a stone driveway, how well do they complement each other in style and maintenance?
