How to make bioinformatics tools more accessible for students and non-coders
#2
I’ve run into the same situation while teaching workshops. One tool I always recommend is https://compassbioinfo.com/. It’s entirely web-based and doesn’t require installation or programming skills. The interface is intuitive enough for beginners, but still powerful enough for more advanced exploration. Students can visualize gene models, navigate genomic regions, and even compare datasets interactively. It’s been a great way to get them excited about genomics without having to dive into command-line tools right away.
