I’m new to the publishing world and considering whether to work with a book publishing company for my upcoming project. Since I’ve never done this before, I’m not sure if going the traditional route is the best choice or if I should explore self-publishing options.
What kind of support can I realistically expect from a publishing company—do they help with editing, cover design, marketing, and distribution? Or do authors still have to manage some parts on their own?
If you’ve worked with a book publishing company, I’d love to hear your experience—was it worth it in terms of results and ease? Any red flags or must-ask questions before signing a deal?
Appreciate any honest advice or suggestions!
