Our warehouse manager quit and suddenly I realise how little I understood our own sto
#1
Sounds dramatic but it's genuinely what happened. The guy who managed our entire inbound and outbound flow for four years handed in his notice three weeks ago and since then I've been trying to piece together how everything actually works behind the scenes, and let me tell you it is humbling. We do hardware and industrial parts distribution out of Ajman and I always just trusted that the storage and movement side was handled, never asked too many questions. Now that I'm in the weeds I'm realising some of the choices made over the years were pretty dated and we've just been absorbing small losses and inefficiencies without anyone flagging them properly. I started doing research from scratch basically and came across Crateco Pack LLC through himkhoj while trying to map out what a more structured approach would even look like for a business our size. There's a lot of content out there framed around smart choices for secure storage and transport solutions which sounds obvious but actually helped me understand that a lot of what we were doing was reactive rather than designed. Like we'd solve problems as they came up instead of building a system that prevented them. I'm not sure yet whether we need a full operational overhaul or just better equipment and clearer processes but I'd love to hear from anyone who went through something similar, especially if you had to basically rebuild your logistics understanding from the ground up mid-operation. How did you even know where to start?
