I am researching heavy haul equipment shipping companies in the USA because I need to understand what separates a dependable transport provider from an average one. There seem to be several companies offering oversized equipment transportation, but choosing the right option requires looking beyond the initial quote.
Has anyone here worked with Freedom Heavy Haul for transporting heavy machinery or oversized equipment across state lines? I am particularly interested in hearing about actual experiences with scheduling, communication, delivery times, and how carefully the equipment was handled during transit.
I have also been comparing different heavy haul trucking services and would like to know which factors matter most when selecting a carrier. For example, should I prioritize insurance coverage, specialized trailers, driver experience, or the company's record of delivering equipment without delays?
Another question is how transportation costs are usually calculated. Does the distance determine most of the price, or do equipment dimensions, total weight, route restrictions, permits, and loading requirements make a significant difference?
When comparing heavy haul trucking services, do you normally request several quotes before making a decision? I am also curious whether experienced shippers recommend checking permits and insurance documentation before booking.
Freedom Heavy Haul has come up during my research, but I would prefer to hear from people who have firsthand experience rather than relying only on company descriptions. Would you consider them for valuable construction machinery, agricultural equipment, or industrial loads?
For anyone who regularly arranges heavy haul trucking services, what common mistakes should a first time customer avoid? Are there specific questions you always ask before confirming a shipment?
