The hand-made chenille patches are created by twisting together short lengths of yarn between two "core" strands. This is what gives chenille its softness and distinct appearance. Chenille is a large stitch that works best for larger designs.
Chenille is more durable than most materials and looks excellent. Chenille can sometimes be made from cotton so as you can imagine cotton chenille has the same advantages and disadvantages as cotton.
