You can manually repair a corrupted OST file using Outlook’s built-in ScanPST utility or recreate the OST file by re-syncing the mailbox with the Exchange server. This method works only for minor corruption issues and accessible Outlook profiles.

Steps to Fix a Corrupted OST File:

  1. Close Microsoft Outlook on your system.
  2. Locate the ScanPST.exe tool on your computer.
  3. Open the ScanPST utility.
  4. Browse and select the corrupted OST file.
  5. Click on the Start button to scan the file.
  6. Review the detected errors.
  7. Click Repair to fix the OST file issues.
  8. Restart Outlook after the repair process completes.

Important Notes:
  • ScanPST works only for minor OST corruption issues.
  • Severely damaged or orphaned OST files may not be repaired manually.
  • Using BLR OST Recovery or OST to PST Converter tool is recommended for complete data recovery.
